NTT Introduces Edge-as-a-Service to Improve Automation

A leading IT infrastructure and services provider, NTT announced the release of Edge-as-a-Service, a platform for deploying, managing, and monitoring edge applications. Together with Intel, NTT and VMware are collaborating on edge solutions and services. The Edge-as-a-Service offering from NTT is powered by VMware’s Edge Compute Stack. In addition, VMware plans to use NTT’s Private 5G technologies in its edge solution. As part of their joint marketing efforts, the companies will coordinate co-innovation, sales, and business development.

The Edge-as-a-Service offering from NTT accelerates business process automation globally. Through its Edge-as-a-Service offering, NTT will provide Private 5G connectivity across its global footprint running on Intel network and edge technology powered by VMware’s Edge Compute Stack.
Through seamless multi-cloud and multi-tenant connectivity, combined with NTT’s expertise in segmenting networks and moving from private to public 5G, this solution offers critical benefits to a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, retail, logistics, and entertainment.
