Loop Neighborhood has announced a new partnership with AiFi, a company that provides frictionless AI-powered autonomous shopping experiences. AiFi will introduce its computer vision, a camera-only platform to its existing stores in California, beginning with two bay area locations.
Steve Gu, founder, and CEO of AiFi said, “We couldn’t be more pleased to expand our partnership with Loop Neighborhood so their customers can start reaping the benefits of autonomous shopping through our computer vision-powered solution. We are happy to provide Loop Neighborhood with this highly flexible, cost-effective solution that addresses their operational needs and adapts easily to their existing store configurations.”
In addition to recognizing tens of thousands of SKUs with pinpoint accuracy, AIFI’s technology can also identify shelved products of any size or weight, from healthy snacks to hot chocolate to cell phone accessories and health supplies. With this technology, retailers can continuously operate their stores without having to alter their layout, product selection, or shelf inventory.
The AiFi platform combines cameras and artificial intelligence software to create a frictionless shopping experience. Among the most affordable solutions on the market, AiFi’s system provides industry-leading accuracy when it comes to tracking shoppers, recognizing products, and generating receipts.
Pervez Pir, COO at Loop Neighborhood, said, “AiFi’s NanoStore™ has been welcomed with open arms by our customers and we think they’re ready for the next generation of AI-powered shopping. Our expanded partnership with AiFi will enable us to incorporate autonomous shopping technology into more stores, allowing our cashiers to focus on providing the best customer service—all while preserving the look and feel of a traditional shopping experience.”
AiFi’s hybrid solution allows Loop Neighborhood customers to scan the LoopAutoCheckout QR code at the store entrance to purchase items quickly. Customers in a hurry will be able to make it out the door faster with an automated checkout powered by AiFi, which will free up cashiers’ time to focus on delivering more personalized customer service. Loop Neighborhood plans to open more AiFi-powered stores later in the year following the openings of these two stores this summer.
