Calypso AI and ECS have announced a partnership to develop safe and secure artificial intelligence (AI) applications for the U.S. federal government.

Neil Serebryany, CEO and Founder of CalypsoAI, said, “As demand for AI-enabled capabilities increases across the federal government, ensuring trust and transparency of these systems will be essential to ensuring the widespread adoption of game-changing AI technology by civil servants, intelligence professionals, and warfighters. We look forward to deploying our industry-leading AI security technology across ECS’ AI platforms to ensure federal agency missions are supported responsibly, from technology development through deployment.”

ECS will use CalypsoAI’s AI safety and security software to expand its test capabilities for government customers, in a partnership with CalypsoAI, a Silicon Valley start-up and industry leader in AI security. ECS benefits from proprietary capabilities from CalypsoAI, such as test and evaluation (T&E) capabilities that are cutting-edge. Through this collaboration, federal agencies, including the Department of Defense and the U.S. government, will be able to deploy trusted and responsible AI faster.

Aaron Burciaga, vice president of data & artificial intelligence at ECS, said, “We have built the critical open ecosystem for assured AI for the speed, security, and scale of government needs. From real-time edge analytics for the warfighter to massive data operations for commerce, we have engineered the future with CalypsoAI. Together we ensure adaptive solutions, responsible data operations, explainable algorithms, and secure environments for the ongoing digital revolution centered on information technology and intelligence technology.”

Kathleen Hicks, the Deputy Secretary of Defense, considers security and safety for AI a top priority. She released a memo in May detailing the imperative for the United States. It is the Department of Defense’s responsibility to develop a framework supporting safe and secure artificial intelligence development and deployment. CalypsoAI’s partnership with ECS will allow federal customers to access AI testing and evaluation capabilities so that they can develop and deploy a variety of AI capabilities with no risk.
