When people bring their smartphone up to their ear during a phone conversation, Elliptic Labs’ AI Virtual Proximity Sensor turns off the display and disables touch capability on the screen. This will reduce the chance of hanging a call or dialing numbers when the phone comes close to the ear or cheeks conserving the phone’s battery by automatically turning off the screen.
Strong proximity detection is provided by Elliptic Labs’ AI Virtual Proximity Sensor without the requirement for a specific hardware sensor.
