Kasten by Veeam, provider of Kubernetes backup and disaster recovery has unveiled a purpose-built Kubernetes data management platform, Kasten by Veeam K10 V5.0. The data stored in Kubernetes applications and containers can be restored or backed up using the new enterprise solution. Data stored in cloud-native Kubernetes applications can be protected using data backup and recovery solutions.
VP of Product at Kasten by Veeam Gaurav Rishi stated, “Kasten K10 V5.0 tackles data management challenges including backup/restore, disaster recovery and application mobility to help enterprises confidently run applications on Kubernetes. Backup is the last line of defense, and Kasten K10 addresses this critical data protection need with a secure, simple, and scalable approach.”
In the past year, misconfiguration has been detected in 53% of organizations while the slowdown in application deployment or delay due to security issues has been 55%. The enhanced data backup and restore capability provided in Kubernetes containers by the platform enables the organizations to reduce these security concerns by ensuring that data can be recovered in case of a security problem.
Rishi also added, “Kubernetes is not just a technology, but also an operations shift. Because we’re built for Kubernetes, not only do we fit neatly in protecting the Kubernetes applications that our customers are increasingly developing, we also fit into scaling deployments using operational practices native to this new environment.”
