Knoema, a leading provider of data discovery, data management and visualization tools, recently acquired Seek Data, a leading cloud data and analytics consultancy across industries. Following this acquisition, the appointment of Seek Data’s analytics experts and engineers will hasten Knoema’s effort to address end-user demand for solutions that are specialized to particular industry verticals, starting with retail and CPG. Erik Mitchell will immediately join as a full-time member of the Knoema team and serve as the merged company’s Chief Strategy Officer, responsible for supervising both product and commercial strategy.

Charles Poliacof, CEO of Knoema, said, “The Knoema Data Hub has led to partnerships with some of the industry’s leading IT and business leaders to access, work with, and derive insights from data. With the acquisition of Seek Data, we will have an opportunity to offer a suite of solutions that support business users on the front lines of sales and marketing, as well as supply chain. We’ll be in a position to bring the world’s data to life through Seek Data’s proprietary data models and in turn, increase the ROI on data and technology spend for companies in the retail and CPG space.”

Knoema has evolved from being a leading Gartner classified data hub to a data supplier with extensive data sets in the Snowflake Marketplace since it got financing from Eldridge and Snowflake Ventures. By transforming the Seek Data Retail and CPG Hub into a set of applications that will run natively on the Snowflake Data Cloud’s Native Apps platform, Knoema will also seek a more integrated cooperation with Snowflake.

Rosemary Hua DeAragon, Global Retail, and CPG Industry GTM lead, Snowflake, commented, “By combining Seek Data’s deep industry expertise and applications with Knoema’s ability to enable customers to seamlessly discover and access data across the Data Cloud, Snowflake customers will now be able to access their most critical data assets across the Data Cloud in a more personalized manner. Mutual customers will also now be able to take advantage of a new integrated suite of industry-specific native applications that drive automated business ROI natively across the Data Cloud.”
