In partnership with IBM, a global leader in Bluetooth™-powered IoT solutions, Kontakt.io announced the availability of near-real-time occupancy solutions to better manage, plan, and operate today’s workspaces, thereby creating resilient, flexible workspaces.

Mr. Rom Eizenberg, CRO at Kontakt.io, said, “Facility operators face mounting pressures to increase realty utilization and cut costs in a world of uncertainty and new workplace flexibility are creating the need for new technologies in the workspace – a need this collaboration between IBM TRIRIGA and Kontakt.io plans to address. New requirements around workplace health and building carbon footprint reduction are just some of the challenges indoor IoT solutions are here to help solve.”

With Kontakt.io- and IBM TRIRIGA, users can expect AI-powered utilization insights across portfolios, occupancy tracking, and space management tools supporting existing IoT infrastructure already deployed in many offices, for example, Cisco’s Catalyst and Meraki access points.

IBM TRIRIGA Building Insights uses IoT data along with TRIRIGA Space Management plans to deliver AI-powered utilization insights. The Kontakt.io BLE room sensor and smart employee cards can be used by enterprises to collect and connect IoT data from different sources. With Kontakt.io’s nine-in-one Portal Beam, for instance, it is possible to monitor space occupancy in real-time at the chair, desk, room, and floor levels, as well as monitor light, air quality, temperature, humidity, carbon monoxide, and other characteristics. Kontakt.io also displays occupancy data anonymously through thermal sensing – without capturing or storing employee images to protect employee privacy.

IBM expects that this collaboration will accelerate the development of indoor IoT solutions for TRIRIGA customers, advancing the vision of Smart Buildings and the connected versatile work environment. The need to monitor room occupancy and environment in near real-time is a frequent request from the field.
