Kyndryl and NetApp have announced a cooperation with BMW Group, based on a solid strategic partnership and both businesses’ extensive experience in the automotive industry. This collaboration brings together Kyndryl’s digital infrastructure services and NetApp’s cloud-based, data-centric software technology.
Markus Koerner, President of Kyndryl Germany, said, “We’re proud that BMW Group has selected Kyndryl for this strategic program. The technology and services that we provide, will be advancing innovation for the entire organization while ensuring operational stability.”
Kyndryl will act as a primary integrator, bringing its experience and global reach to bear on managing the automaker’s crucial enterprise storage infrastructure. NetApp supplies the best-in-industry network-attached (NAS) and scale-out storage infrastructure for all of BMW Group’s data center needs. The agreement spans 17 nations across five continents, with Germany, the United States, and China serving as significant markets.
BMW has the worldwide presence and flexibility needed to serve all of its markets. Kyndryl’s significant automotive industry knowledge – it serves eight out of ten of the world’s biggest automakers – is a key distinction. The managed infrastructure-as-a-service approach from Kyndryl enhances accessibility and uptime while minimizing the cost and difficulties associated with self-managed systems.
NetApp products and services provide the resilient framework for BMW Group’s future data fabric, ensuring continuous data availability, uninterrupted service delivery, and easy data movement. This enables BMW Group to leverage data in the data center or in the cloud to speed innovation and get new insights.
