Microsoft and BPCL announced a strategic cloud partnership designed to accelerate BPCL’s digital transformation and shape the future of innovation in the oil and gas industry. BPCL and Microsoft will collaborate to enhance customer experience by harnessing the cloud’s capabilities to address the unique challenges of the oil and gas sector. Through the collaboration, BPCL can improve its tech architecture and speed up the evolution of its business model.

Sharing his thoughts on the partnership, Anant Maheshwari, president, of Microsoft India, said, “BPCL is one of the most respected public sector companies in the country and we are honored to work together to define the next frontiers of data-driven innovation and customer engagement in the oil and gas industry. Bringing together BPCL’s operational expertise with Microsoft’s cloud and AI capabilities, our partnership will help fortify BPCL’s business operations with trust and security at the core.”

BPCL’s concept of ‘Project Anubhav’ focuses on customer experience (CX) and trust, personalization, and convenience, as part of its digital-first strategy. Microsoft will provide the cloud with infrastructure as a service (IAAS) and platform as a service (PAAS) services, as well as API, IoT, and analytics services, over a seven-year agreement. As part of BPCL’s cloud transformation, Microsoft’s secure cloud platform with data privacy at its core will enable BPCL to run operations more efficiently, build smarter supply chains, and engage customers more effectively. In addition, both companies have collaborated to provide BPCL’s employees across the country with a secure collaboration experience through Microsoft Teams and workplace productivity software.
