Microsoft also announced that it had joined forces with leading experts in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). It was formed with the goal of maximizing technology to provide recommendations, tooling, and best practices for AI in healthcare. The group aims to address the barriers that block the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence in the industry. It’s called the Artificial Intelligence Industry Innovation Coalition (AI3C).

The AI3C’s aim would be to use AI to solve major business issues, such as general economic and industrial challenges, digital skills and employability, and data privacy. Its overall goal is to speed up AI innovation and adoption by showcasing emerging AI tools, gathering industry, transforming the AI workforce, and preparing students for careers in AI and data science.

The board of directors for the AI3C is composed of volunteer senior executives acting as advisors. The board will offer recommendations and education on the responsible use of AI. The coalition plans to connect the healthcare industry with white papers and social media outreach. Each member organization has nominated its own AI ambassadors to serve as regional leads and drive programs.
Ashley Llorens, vice president, and managing director, Microsoft Research and Incubations was quoted in the release saying “Meeting the urgent need for new health technologies requires diverse partners coming together across sectors. With perspectives from AI practitioners, healthcare professionals, and the research community, the AI3C can guide collaborative projects that accelerate the translation of frontier technologies from research to solution development, to implementation.

The AI3C will offer suggestions and guidance on a variety of AI-related subjects. Appropriate AI education, health equity, and workforce change are among the goals. Whitepapers, new initiatives, and social media will all be used by the alliance to collaborate with the healthcare sector. Later this year, further information about the coalition’s projects will be accessible.
