    Introduction –

Isn’t it more and more obvious that technology is taking its space in every industry? There is a shortage of skilled labor, and this problem has become urgent when it comes to application and platform development. Through low-code adoption, enterprises are democratizing software development so that business users can now contribute to the development process. In addition to reducing costs, low code may help bring back major software projects and utilize the hidden technical competence within an organization. Low-code/No-code applications are being adopted in software industries to create faster applications, improve their competitive edge, and continue the integration of digital technologies. Today, many businesses in the digital workplace are embracing low-code and no-code applications.

The latest reports from AIxOutlook stated that 60% of new applications developed by organizations will use low-code or no-code technologies by 2026, an increase from less than 20% in the year 2020.

“With the rise of low-code application platforms or LCAPs, we have seen a growth of citizen development and the increase of business technologists who work outside of IT departments and develop technology and analytics capabilities.”

There is a substantial difference between low-code and no-code platforms. Low-code platforms cater to developers, while no-code platforms cater to everybody! Thus, low code still involves coding, which can be quite difficult for non-technical people. Nevertheless, you should note that low code is still a significant advance over traditional application development and does not require as much technical expertise as traditional development. But before we dig deeper into the differences, let’s start by defining each term.

Low-code abstractions and automation streamline the application lifecycle so that rapid delivery of software solutions is possible. You can also integrate low-code platforms with the latest web and mobile frameworks, SaaS, and web services to accelerate application development. No-code programs are a form of low-code where the developer does not need to create an application from scratch but can, instead, execute an automated or semi-automated process.

For more details on low code and no-code development platforms, read our blog on AIxOutlook: Low-Code and No-Code Development Platforms – An Overview

Why do Software Companies Apply Low code/No code Applications?

Low-code/no-code software helps businesses to respond quickly and effectively to changing requirements. Businesses rely on them to resolve issues, improve teamwork and efficiency, meet corporate goals, and develop a mature digital ecosystem to gain a competitive advantage.

You no longer need web or app developers to construct a website, app, or user interface, demonstrating the impact of cheap code. A low-code designer and a back-end developer can team up to create a working app in hours that can power a business. Low code apps are an opportunity that many large enterprises are beginning to capitalize on. No code app building has reached a point where a casual developer can build it. It’s difficult to disagree with the value proposition of no-code development platforms, especially when it comes to developing basic mobile apps. However, they aren’t always a good substitute for low-code or bespoke software development, because the trade-offs associated with their utilization might end up costing you and your company a lot more in the long run.

Businesses that seek simple, out-of-the-box solutions with minimum customization should choose no-code development platforms. This is more often the case with internal systems than with software that interacts with customers.

Low-code apps have supplied code solutions, therefore there is no longer any technological obstacle. Low-code technologies to aid in the creation of rich consumer experiences in organizations.

    Examples of Low-code and No-code:

Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, and Weebly are examples of low-code applications. All of these platforms feature low-code capabilities for creating highly customizable websites and user interfaces.

You already know the advantages of no-code solutions if you’ve used Pipedrive for CRM, Airtable for online workspaces, or Canva for visual creation. They’ve taken challenging areas that often need a high level of coding expertise and made them accessible to users.

    Conclusion –

The future of software development is No-Code and Low-Code. The real challenge for developers is not just to learn a single programming language or code, but to develop the creative skills and business sense of how to do effective software development. Citizen developers will construct an increasing number of applications using no-code and low-code platforms in the future. It will provide the necessary oversight for growth across all business activities. The no-code and low-code platforms are becoming a perfect tool for citizen developers of the application, particularly when AI modules are added to the existing functionalities.

The rise of low-code apps and no-code platforms will promote the creation of new positions within enterprises. Developers that use no-code tools will be able to focus more on creative tasks, such as understanding the business context of their work and building applications that truly solve problems. Customers’ automation and integration needs may now be handled promptly and efficiently by businesses.
