A global leader in voice artificial intelligence (Voice AI), SoundHound AI, Inc, enables restaurants to automate phone ordering service by unveiling its new functionality. Through a partnership with software, payments, and hardware company, Square, SoundHound is integrating its conversational AI ordering automation with the point-of-sale (POS) system of Square.
“At Square, we are seeing sellers leverage the latest technology to meet customer demand regardless of size or complexity. Our partnership with SoundHound allows us to offer innovative and cost-effective solutions to restaurants working with small profit margins and facing multiple challenges—including the high cost of rapid labor turnover and shortages. This integration provides our sellers with the tools they need to offer a consistently high-level of customer service,” stated Bryan Solar, Head of Restaurants, Square.
SoundHound for Restaurants™ voice assistant helps the restaurants by immediately answering the calls from customers to place the order. The order acceptance, order modification, and confirmation to complete the payments are sent to the customers by the voice assistant. The natural language interface backed by SoundHound’s advanced conversational AI technology enables the callers to place the order as per their requirements.
Restaurant owners can effectively make use of the SoundHound solution to handle the marketing trends in a cost-effective way through minimal labor usage. The solution is capable of answering multiple calls at a time through a four-step setup providing seamless integration. During the peak hours also, by eliminating busy signals, SoundHound’s voice assistant will be able to take orders and process payments through POS systems.
James Hom, SoundHound Co-Founder and VP of Products stated, “We spoke with many restaurant operators to develop SoundHound for Restaurants and received overwhelming feedback about the need for automated solutions that help restaurants process more orders and meet growing consumer demands more efficiently. Our partnership with Square has given us the opportunity to bring the power of conversational AI technology to businesses that would otherwise not be able to access the convenience and efficiencies of a voice-enabled solution.”
Simply connect Square’s POS to SoundHound for Restaurants, sync to the menu user want the voice assistant to use and enter the phone number user wants the system to answer to get started. After that, SoundHound’s voice assistant answers the phone and takes orders much like a front-of-house employee.
