Subtle Medical, an innovation leader in the healthcare sector, and Bayer, a leading life science company, announced a collaboration to investigate the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in radiology image acquisition.
Dr. Ajit Shankaranarayanan, Chief Product Officer at Subtle Medical, said, “We are proud to collaborate with Bayer to combine our expertise and drive innovative solutions in light of the ever-increasing demands of medical imaging. At Subtle Medical, we are committed to continued innovation and the development of AI tools that create a meaningful impact for both radiologists and patients.”
Subtle Medical’s state-of-the-art AI algorithm, SubtleGAD™, will be investigated for use in contrast-enhanced MRIs to enhance image quality and the potential for new applications for contrast media.
Prof. Dr. Olaf Weber, Head of Radiology Research and Development at Bayer, said, “At Bayer, we are constantly striving to advance medical knowledge and provide the best possible therapeutic and diagnostic options for physicians and patients. We are pleased to collaborate with Subtle Medical to harness the power of AI, with the ultimate goal of providing physicians with the means for optimal diagnosis for their patients.”
MRI scans provide physicians with detailed images of the body that are crucial for diagnosing and monitoring disease. As the population ages, medical imaging is becoming increasingly important for diagnosing and treating patients.
Artificial intelligence (AI) offers radiologists an opportunity to provide accurate and timely diagnoses to their patients, while at the same time speeding up imaging exam times and reducing radiation dosage. Subtle Medical’s deep learning technology can be used to acquire high-quality images from both accelerated and low-dose scans. Both companies anticipate collaborating to further medical imaging innovation.
