A global leader in modular devices and examination systems for on-demand, AI-powered medical exams, TytoCare is expanding its integration within MyChart, enabling frictionless synchronous workflow throughout the patient journey. With the integrated workflow, health systems can conveniently integrate TytoCare exam data within their EHR (Electronic Health Record), clinicians can access TytoCare exam data directly within Epic, and remote patient monitoring is seamless.
Dedi Gilad, CEO, and Co-Founder of TytoCare said, “We are thrilled we were able to expand our integration in MyChart, enabling health organizations to drive better care through easier access and a more informed care pathway for each patient. Consumers demand frictionless experiences in all aspects of their lives, and as telehealth continues to remain a vital piece of the healthcare landscape, it’s crucial telehealth systems provide users with a seamless experience that includes remote patient monitoring capabilities.”
Through a collaboration between TytoCare and the University of Miami Health System, the new integration was developed in June 2020. The University of Miami Health System physicians and student-athletes used TytoHome devices to capture vital statistics and share exam data. The athlete was contacted if their vitals were out of range to conduct an asynchronous TytoCare exam which required them to use two apps, MyChart and TytoCare. TytoCare’s “exam and share” feature can now be used from just one app, MyChart.
In a healthcare organization using both TytoCare and Epic, this new integration will provide seamless switching between the two apps for patients enrolled in both applications. With TytoCare, vitals can be directly pushed into an EHR via APIs. In addition to using message and notification capabilities, TytoCare offers the exam viewer so clinicians can view additional media submitted by patients during the exam. This includes audio, video, and images.
David Reis, Vice President and CIO of University of Miami Health System, said, “The University of Miami Health System is always looking for new ways to incorporate technology that helps us deliver seamless patient care within MyChart,” said David Reis, Vice President and CIO of University of Miami Health System. “We look forward to further exploring other TytoCare telehealth solutions.”
Using TytoCare, physicians are able to connect remotely with patients for high-quality physicals at the convenience of their own home. Handheld examination kits are easy to use and include everything necessary for thorough physical examinations of the heart, skin, ears, throat, abdomen, and lungs as well as to measure blood oxygen levels, heart rate, and body temperature, which can be crucial in treating non-acute and chronic illnesses. Through its partnership with Epic’s App Orchard marketplace, TytoCare makes it possible for health organizations to provide comprehensive telehealth solutions and access to patient data to care providers and patients.
