UltimateSuite, a task mining provider, has announced the addition of Robotic Process Mining to its platform to improve Task Discovery. The new feature assists customers in automatically identifying repetitive processes that can be automated or reduced to enhance efficiency and increase business ROI. The company’s on-premises software functions at scale to identify and comprehend tasks that have the greatest potential for efficiency benefits or are the best candidates for automation. It then generates a Process Definition Document (PDD) that Robotic Process Automation (RPA) systems can utilize to build robots that automate the processes.

Robert Samanek, CEO and Founder at UltimateSuite, said, “While there is massive interest across the industry in RPA and the organizational efficiency and employee benefits it brings, the reality is that many customers are struggling to achieve effective returns on investment. The challenges lie in understanding the activities and whether they can be automated, particularly across large numbers of employees in an organization. Our Robotic Process Mining Product for Task Discovery provides the solution, automatically identifying tasks at scale to help target those best suited to streamlining and therefore maximizing the return on investment.”

Unlike competitors’ products, which rely on optical character recognition and are cloud-based, or measure limited processes across a few workstations, UltimateSuite’s platform can be deployed on-premises at scale, making it ideal for use in secure data environments and assisting in the identification of tasks to optimize across the organization. The company’s software collects data such as task frequency, user count, and total time spent on an activity, which it then evaluates to find tasks with recurring patterns that might be deleted, streamlined, or automated to save money. It can also help to recommend repetitive, mundane jobs that are better suited to be done by a computer, relieving staff from tedious tasks, and generating more satisfying work.

Alan Pelz-Sharpe, the founder of Deep Analysis, said, “As the market continues to evolve, the huge value which Task Mining can bring to the enterprise is becoming ever more apparent. The scale at which it operates, and the granularity it provides, deliver a basis for identifying target areas that can be significantly improved through automation and robotics. However, the market has been missing the bridge that connects Task Mining and RPA, this development from UltimateSuite presents a solid next step in the journey towards true automation.”
